Lauren Metliss, expert on fertility, IVF and growing your bump!

Meet our 1MUM fertility expert Lauren Metliss from Nutshell, Baby Birth and Bump!



The 1MUM team is very excited to welcome Lauren aboard and each week Lauren will be answering questions around IVF, fertility, pre-pregnancy health and all the bits in between.



Lauren Metliss comes to 1MUM with a wealth of experience and knowledge and as a mother of two young girls aged four and one, she has experience as both the professional and the new parent.

Lauren is a registered nurse and midwife with 13 years of experience in midwifery and women's health. She completed a Bachelor of Nursing  (Honours) at The University of Sydney then went onto to study a Graduate Diploma in Midwifery at The University of Western Sydney. 

​

Lauren has worked in labour and postnatal wards, antenatal clinics and high risk units in both Sydney and London, with extensive experience in women's health and fertility nursing, particularly IVF.

​

She studied an Advanced Diploma of Women’s Health at The Middlesex University, UK, developing her experience in contraception, family planning and women’s health screening. She currently works part time at IVF Australia as a nurse co-ordinator and runs an antenatal clinic for Dr Gavin Sacks.

​

Lauren has just finished a 2 year term as NSW Rep for the Fertility Nurses of Australasia and is a member of the Australian College of Midwives.

​

Recently she started up Nutshell Bump, Birth and Baby Classes, which provide private antenatal classes or postnatal settling in visits in the comfort of your home and privacy of your home (Check out the Nutshell website for more information).
